Hotel

After driving through the grubby, nasty, busy-ness of Los Angelos, we drove to Anaheim and checked into our hotel.The stark contrast between different areas in cities always amazes me.  You can have gross, old parts of town then one block away are super nice, well kept neighborhoods.  Before going to Hollywood, we also drove along the coast for a little ways.  Such a different lifestyle!  In one area there was a neighborhood full of houses who had their own private dock in each of their backyards.  There were also tons and tons of houses who backed right up to the beach.  What a life!  Every block or so were also streets that went straight to the beach then ended.  

We decided to use our hotel reward points to stay at a Residence Inn about 5 miles from Disneyland.  We checked in and brought all of our stuff in then went to the store to stock up on food.  I was also really really excited about going to Disneyland so we drove to Disneyland to figure out were we needed to go and where to park the next morning.  Mostly I just really wanted to see the park!  We came back, cooked dinner in our room (hurray for a stove!), did laundry, and packed our stuff for our first big day at Disneyland!

This was definitely the most glamorous part of our trip :)  Can you tell that we were all out of clean clothes?  Andrew was fascinated by the quarter slots.  Robert and I had flashbacks to college.  It is nice to have multiple machines and do it all at once!

These are probably my favorite pictures from the whole trip.  They were both totally enthralled by their books.  So cute!

Andrew's retelling of "The Little Engine That Could" was so cute!  That boy loves trains!  And Alex loves to do whatever big brother is doing.
